19th Century Traveling Silver Chest by Smith and Nicholson

19th century traveling silver chest by Smith and Nicholson A super quality sliver chest or strong box, the chest is made by Smith of Smith and Nicholson, the chest was intended for world travel, it is banded in metal with stout carrying handles at both ends and with a central locking bands we do not have key (sorry), it has an interior stay to hold the lid open When opened we can see all the shaped and fitted baize and paper covered trays, there are 4 lift out trays and fixed one for trays long the back on the inside, some of the labels are still visible The chest is heavy, it is made in solid Oak with iron banding The box measures 33’’ wide x 20’’ deep and stands 27’’ high EB121.
