Late 18th C British Colonial Rosewood Trunk, Presented on a Forged-Iron Base
About the Item
A British Colonial rosewood trunk from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique English trunk, which would also function beautifully as a small table, has been nicely adorn with a patterning of studs (including circular medallions, cross topped triangular-peaks, and geometric motifs) about its top and front side. Forged iron handles flank each side and metal wraps support the edges. The backside remains un-adorn. This coffer is raised on a iron stand with linear skirt and four slender, squared legs that terminate into stylized feet. The base is older, but a later addition to this piece. This antique British Colonial rosewood trunk will make a lovely accent storage piece, or perhaps used as a smaller sized accent table (may need glass added top for protection and level surface).
