About the Item

A true objet d'art to be admired for generations, this antique freestanding hall tree is a true masterpiece of Rococo style craftsmanship. Expertly cast in iron, the intricate frame is a display of ornamental artistry. Elaborate foliage and floral carvings wind their way across the elegant design, accented by mythical neoclassical sea serpents. The central feature is a framed oval mirror, allowing one to steal a final glance before departing. Eight ornately curved hooks grace the sides, providing ample space for coats, hats, and accessories. A scalloped porcelain drip pan in the shape of a seashell rests at the bottom to catch water from dripping umbrellas - a charming nod to the oceanic creatures adorning the frame. With its perfect balance of feminine grace and masculine strength, this hall tree is a stunning focal point that would lend an air of sophistication and historical elegance to any entryway. Found in France, circa 1880. The mirror has been replaced and is not original to the piece. No structural damage. Approximately 26.5” W x 14.75” D x 77.25” H.

19th Century Garden Bench with Cast Iron Tree Branch Frame
Located in Mckinney, TX
Sturdy, sculptural, and full of character, this antique two-board garden bench was discovered in France and features a cast iron base shaped to resemble tree branches—an organic detail that blends beautifully into outdoor settings. The raw, weathered wooden planks carry years of exposure and use, with layered paint remnants that hint at its long outdoor life. The cast iron legs have aged to a rich patina, their sinuous form echoing natural limbs, while the simplicity of the seat and backrest allow the artistry of the base to take center stage. Ideal for the garden, porch, or even as indoor seating, this bench balances rustic functionality with whimsical design. A poetic nod to nature, this piece offers both charm and structure—an enduring relic ready for its next season of life. Found in France, circa 1880. Sturdy and functional. The wooden boards have been scrubbed of the original paint. A topcoat (suitable for outdoors) has been applied for durability. The cast iron tree...
