About the Item

A true objet d'art to be admired for generations, this antique freestanding hall tree is a true masterpiece of Rococo style craftsmanship. Expertly cast in iron, the intricate frame is a display of ornamental artistry. Elaborate foliage and floral carvings wind their way across the elegant design, accented by mythical neoclassical sea serpents. The central feature is a framed oval mirror, allowing one to steal a final glance before departing. Eight ornately curved hooks grace the sides, providing ample space for coats, hats, and accessories. A scalloped porcelain drip pan in the shape of a seashell rests at the bottom to catch water from dripping umbrellas - a charming nod to the oceanic creatures adorning the frame. With its perfect balance of feminine grace and masculine strength, this hall tree is a stunning focal point that would lend an air of sophistication and historical elegance to any entryway. Found in France, circa 1880. The mirror has been replaced and is not original to the piece. No structural damage. Approximately 26.5” W x 14.75” D x 77.25” H.
