About the Item

This beautifully restored Paul Frankl-inspired Mid-century abstract sculptural coat rack made with a spiral reed rattan base with a branching iron structure wrapped in woven wicker. This unique coatrack takes cues from the southern California Googie design movement of the late 1950s and mixes with abstract shapes found in modernist painters of the same decade. It is an art sculpture you can hang your hat and coat on. Dimensions: 84" Height, 18" Width, 17" Depth United States, 1950 We only purchase and sell only the best and finest rattan furniture made by the best and most well-known American designers and manufacturers including: Ritts Company.(Herb Sr. and Shirley Ritts) Tropitan Seven Seas Rattan Paul Frankl Tropical Sun Rattan These designers and companies helped to popularize rattan furniture in the United States during the 1930s through the 1960s.
