Excellent condition, beautifully detailed and truly elegant picture stand. This beautiful gallery easel is a joy to look at, even when there is no picture displayed on it. Thanks to the solid structure and the three legged base it is perfectly stable. The height of this practical size stand can easily (no pun intended) be adjusted with the circular wooden handle on the back. In our images the small chain that prevents the back-rest from sliding on a slippery surface is not there, but we will put it back on prior to shipping. The combination of the warm patina of the mahogany and the beautifully carved, scrolling motifs makes this Southern European easel an absolute joy to own and look at. We believe it is either French or Italian and we date it to around 1950-1970. Living in a home or working in a studio with a hand-crafted and stylish easel like this brings real beauty into your life. Especially with one of your favourite works of art displayed on it. The child's portrait by Karel Gomes that is displayed in two of our images is not included. This stunning and highly practical easel is great value for money.
