About the Item

MG901 Valet is made of solid oak and blackened metal. The stone plate comes in different kinds of marble, limestone and slate. The vale is part of the Holmen series. The Holmen series originates in a series of furniture, which was developed for Michelin restaurant 108 in Copenhagen. The common signature for the furniture items is the lattice in metal, which creates a similar expression in the furniture. The series is subsequently further developed to include a wide range of items for the living room, bedroom, entrance hall and dining room. Evolving from a body of works realised over the last decade between Malte Gormsen Møbelsnedkeri and the Danish design studio Space Copenhagen, the furniture collection is an ongoing collaboration rooted in our continuous work in creating bespoke furniture for both private clients and exclusive interior projects such as acclaimed destination restaurants Noma, Geranium, Geist and 108. MG901 Valet is designed by Space Copenhagen. Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio working across multiple disciplines from furniture, lighting and refined objects, to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants all over the world. The MG901 Valet is made in Copenhagen by fine cabinetmaker, Malte Gormsen. Cabinetmaking runs through Malte Gormsen’s veins. He trained as an apprentice with Niels Roth Andersen, where he helped make furniture pieces by distinguished designers such as Finn Juhl, Helge Vestergaard Jensen and many others. As Snedkermæster, Malte is actively involved in the creative process and is widely known for his uncompromised focus on quality and craftsmanship.
