About the Item
MG205 Side table made in solid oak. Originally the table was designed and made for the first Noma restaurant's lounge at Strandgade in Copenhagen.
Evolving from a body of works realised over the last decade between Malte Gormsen Møbelsnedkeri and the Danish design studio Space Copenhagen, the furniture collection is an ongoing collaboration rooted in our continuous work in creating bespoke furniture for both private clients and exclusive interior projects such as acclaimed destination restaurants Noma, Geranium, Geist and 108.
MG205 side table is designed by Space Copenhagen. Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio working across multiple disciplines from furniture, lighting and refined objects, to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants all over the world.
The MG205 side table is made at Malte Gormsen Møbelsnedkeri workshop in Copenhagen. Cabinetmaking runs through Malte Gormsen’s veins. He trained as an apprentice with Niels Roth Andersen, where he helped make furniture pieces by distinguished designers such as Finn Juhl, Helge Vestergaard Jensen and many others. As Snedkermæster, Malte is actively involved in the creative process and is widely known for his uncompromised focus on quality and craftsmanship.

Malte Gormsen Møbelsnedkeri is a fine cabinetmaker that combines Danish craftsmanship traditions with the latest technology. Our client list includes restaurants such as Noma and Geranium, shops, hotels, and private customers worldwide. At our design studio and workshop in Copenhagen, we create custom-made interiors and furniture. Malte Gormsen Kollektion is a curated collection of furniture and objects created with an uncompromising approach to craftsmanship and quality. Rooted in centuries-old Danish wood tradition, the collection journeys both backwards and forwards in time. Most of the items are designed by Space Copenhagen and made at Gormsen’s workshop outside of Copenhagen.
