MG210 Dining Table in Danish beech by Malte Gormsen design by Norm Architects

About the Item

MG210 Sculptural dining table. Malte Gormsen Kollektion and can be made to order in both oak and beech. Surface treatment: Light Beech Wood is a unique material, and its appearance can be influenced by various factors. To us, surface treatment isn’t simply surface treatment but a time-intensive science in itself. For the Dark Nature surface treatment, we don’t add any colour pigmentation, instead, we work with the natural amount of acid present in the oak wood. Each surface is therefore 100% unique bringing out the natural variations reflected in the wood. This could mean colour variations between slats, lighter and darker, places next to each other. The MG210 Dining table is designed by Norm Architects. At Malte Gormsen, fine cabinetmaking craftsmanship and an approach to wood as a living thing remain the point of departure, rooted in methods used in Ancient Egypt combined with modern technology. In striking accordance with Norm’s approach to design and architecture alike, Malte Gormsen thinks of a successful design as one you feel drawn to. It should be able to stand alone as a sculpture, making you want to immerse yourself in it. While its ability to be seamlessly integrated into a given interior is of obvious importance, its capability to make you want to investigate it rather than pass it by is what truly motivates our way of working. The MG210 Dining table is made in Copenhagen at the Malte Gormsen workshop. Malte himself trained as an apprentice with Niels Roth Andersen, where he helped make furniture pieces by distinguished designers such as Finn Juhl, Helge Vestergaard Jensen and many others. As Snedkermæster, Malte is actively involved in the creative process and is widely known for his uncompromised focus on quality and craftsmanship. Malte Gormsen works with clients such as the Micheline restaurants Noma and Geranium.
