We are delighted to this very rare solid Fruitwood Napoleon III Canterbury music stand with ornate bobbin turning all over and original castors A good looking rare and valuable piece of furniture, these sell for a small fortune in fully restored condition, just take a look on 1stdibs and you will see them going for around the £6000 mark for the very special models This is one of the most ornate examples I’ve seen, its in a very desirable timber Fruitwood, from the right period in France and bobbin turned from head to toe Originally designed as a music stand, the modern use is usually a very high end magazine or newspaper rack if your looking for the functionality of the piece, most use them simply as art furniture In terms of the condition this is sublime and easily the best of its type I have ever seen, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom as a matter of process Dimensions: Height 48cm Width 42cm Depth 34.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade
