We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare solid Burr walnut Canterbury music stand with ornate carving, original castors and bronze engraved rails on top A good looking rare and valuable piece of furniture, these sell for a small fortune in fully restored condition, just take a look on 1stdibs and you will see them going for around the £6000 mark for the very special models This is one of the most ornate examples I’ve seen, the top has solid bronze rails which have been hand engraved, the timber is fretwork carved all over, the little legs are finished with the original porcelain castors, it's simply exquisite Originally designed as a music stand, the modern use is usually a very high-end magazine or newspaper rack if you're looking for the functionality of the piece, most use them simply as art furniture In terms of the condition, there is heavy wear to the top in the veneer in a few places, it has bubbled and or worn off, this has been reflected in the asking price, we can it tidied up professionally should the new owner wish, for a quote please ask We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom Dimensions Height 54cm Width 57cm Depth 36cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
