Charming Animal Needlepoint Pillow Blanks, Lou Gartner Estate. Vintage needle point canvas animal designs by Louis J. Gartner Jr. He was well known in the design world as a Sotheby's consultant, artist and designer with boutiques in Bergdorf Goodman and Palm Beach which specialized in hand painted needlepoint design.
Wonderful craft projects, these old stock blank pillow designs date from the 1960's to 70's and are each hand painted. Each is unusual, whether is decorative or humorous. There are 3 parts to each pillow, front,back and base. He also wrote the eponymous book "Needlepoint Design", 1970.
