This is a rather large piece with rather good condition. It is pure wool from the mid 19th C. Kashmir, India.

It does not come with an insert. Linen in the back. Zipper Closure. Dry Cleaning is reccommended.

Originating from Kashmir, these shawls—sometimes called “Paisley” or “Piano” shawls—became highly fashionable in Europe during the Victorian era, especially after Queen Victoria popularized them. The design and craftsmanship of these Indian shawls later inspired the iconic production of similar pieces in Paisley, Scotland, throughout the 19th century.
