About the Item

A large custom made one-of-a-kind cushion (pillow) created from a stunning rare vintage Valentino silk fashion scarf in an extremely elegant design. In an exquisite soft ballet pale pink covered in luscious magnolia flowers in full bloom. Like a charming oriental scene with sweeping branches placed pleasingly to the eye, the delicate ivory petals are almost ready to fall into the sugared almond feminine pastel pink ground. Placed proudly in the bottom right hand corner is the ‘Valentino’ signature. Italian designer Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani, best known as Valentino, is known for his fine haute couture creations. Valentino couture is the ultimate extravagance, one example being the white gown worn by Jackie Kennedy at her wedding to Greek tycoon Aristotle Onassis. Their signature look being pretty bows and intricate lace patterning infused with femininity. A rare find as Valentino scarves today are mainly found in chiffon and featuring their signature lace print. On a quality silk with a sumptuous feel, beautiful powdery texture with a hand rolled hem. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The traditional oatmeal color linen is a combination of the unbleached raw colour of the natural flax plant on the weft intertwined with pristine white on the warp, resulting in a beautiful mottled effect. A contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric.
