Rare Charming Pair of Early 20th Century Printed Cotton Pug Pillows
About the Item
Adorable pair of early 20th century printed cotton pug pillows nearly identical to a pair from the collection of Duke and Duchess of Windsor Sotheby's auction, September 11-19, 1997
Comprised of a male pug with a red collar and a female pug with a light blue ribbon, rendered realistically from the front, sides, back and the base which shows the pugs paws.
Hand sewn with patent mark at the base of each.
Condition: Very Good, age appropriate wear
Height: 6.75 inches
Width: 3.75 inches
Depth: 2.5 inches

The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, like many other pug enthusiasts, were enchanted with this breed and amassed and impressive collection of pugs in porcelain, paintings, pillows, photographs and other interesting mediums. The printed cotton pug pillows from their collection caused an intense bidding war with pillows selling for unpresidented amounts.
