Large Australian Aboriginal Painting by Mabel Juli
Located in Atlanta, GA
A striking large painting by Australian Aboriginal artist Mabel Juli (b. 1931) circa 1990s. This large abstract landscape painting on the dreamscape of the Western Australian Desert was boldly executed with several shades of earth pigments. The contrast of their colors, the granule textures of the surface and the abstract composition made it visually arresting.
Provenance: inscribed verso: "Warmun Art Centre, Mabel Juli 409/08 " Paper label affixed from "Gallery Gabrielle Pizzi Gallery, Melbourn, Australia", where the painting was originally purchased prior to 2004.
Mabel Juli started painting in 1980s at the Warmun Art Centre, encouraged by artists Rover Thomas...

Totemic Head Sculpture Unsigned by Jencik, Melbourne, 1998
By Paul Jencik
Located in Melbourne, AU
Another wonderful marble sculpture with an intriguing provenance. Unsigned. Part of a series by Paul Jencik, circa 1998-2001.
This ‘totemic head’ sculpture is carved from a single block of marble in a snowy white. It’s the remaining head from a much larger totemic sculpture, the base now lost. This figurative face can be interpreted in many ways. Jencik references human, animal and natural forms but never quite allows us to reach a conclusion about the origins of his creations.
Jencik was a welder, boat builder and metal worker with a strong creative instinct but without the opportunity or artistic training that would afford his work any recognition. He created a large series of marble and timber sculptures...

Marc Newson Red 'Gello' Table Made for Les 3 Suisses in 1994, Original Box
By Marc Newson
Located in London, GB
The Gello was only produced for a very short time and only a limited quantity few are left in existence.
An extraordinary clever design.
As a mail-order product the table needed to be ultra lightweight and easy to assemble. Newson designed the table in three very simple parts, choosing a high frequency welded PVC plastic sheet for the base, a piece of plastic tubing to hold it together and a vacuum formed polystyrene for the top.
3 Suisses...

Ice Cold, ‘A$AP Rocky’, Limited Ed Book with Black & Signed Fine Art Print
By TASCHEN
Located in Los Angeles, CA
The definitive photographic history of how hip-hop blinged out and redefined the world of jewelry, luxury, and style.
Signed black-and-white pigment print on Canson Platine paper, 16 x 20 in.; hardcover volume in a slipcase, 9.8 x 13.4 in., 6.29 lb., 388 pages.
Whether it’s diamond-encrusted grills, oversized “truck” style chains, bust-down Rolex and Patek Philippe watches, or a Tiffany necklace, jewelry is a cornerstone of hip-hop culture. Glittering, blinged-out jewels are the shining statement of a collective identity: unapologetic, charismatic, and street savvy.
Spanning the history of hip-hop jewelry, from the 1980s to today, Ice Cold: A Hip-Hop Jewelry History is a stunning compilation of storytelling and visuals. Hundreds of extraordinary images of every major hip-hop artist on record celebrate how “ice” has become a proclamation of identity and self-expression.
Starting with Run-DMC’s gold Adidas pendants and Eric B. & Rakim’s ostentatious dookie rope chains and Mercedes medallions, the jewelry then transforms from street style into a booming design culture. The hip-hop tradition of “show up and show out” reaches new heights with artists like Pharrell Williams, Jay-Z, Gucci Mane, and Cardi B...

Aboriginal Jukurrpa by Dorrie Petyarre
By Dorrie Petyarre
Located in Palm Desert, CA
This is a beautiful Aboriginal Jukurrpa (dreaming story) by Dorrie Petyarre, an artist for the Mbantu Gallery, entitled "Ntibera Dancing Women". Motiffs and iconographic elements are painted first to depict a story. The artists' bold use of deep red and orange dominate the piece; white, black, yellow, green and mauve introduce great accents. The face of the wooden frame is gold leafed. This would be an incredible splash of color in any interior!
Biography found on invaluable:
