Very Colorful silkscreen by graphic artist Antonio Fernández Reboiro for Cuban documentary on the VI International Ballet Festival which took place in Cuba 1979. Bernabe Hernandez was the producer of the film. Titled “VI festival internacional de ballet – documental cubano de bernabe hernandez”. Printed reboiro/79 and ink signed reboiro. Condition: Very Good. No issues. Measurements: 17 7/8 inches wide x 28 inches high. Antonio Fernández Reboiro is a Cuban Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1935. He studied medicine and architecture at the University of Havana. In 1963 he began working at the ICAIC (Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry) until 1982 designing posters. Most of the highly collectible Cuban posters are from mid-1960s through early 1980s, the period called “el periodo de oro de la grafica cubana” (golden period of Cuban graphics). These silkscreens were develop with new graphic techniques, due in part that materials were not readily available and lack of formal graphic schools. The Cuban posters became known for the use of bold innovate images which were mostly for proganda. Rare vintage Susana Espinosa signed vintage abstract Glazed Sgraffito terracotta ceramic art plate charger stoneware studio 1970s Puerto Rico. Early outstanding piece by Espinosa -reputably Puerto Rico's most important modernist art potter. Signed in front Espinosa and Estudio on back. Art Studio Casa Candina glazed terracotta vessel with sgraffito Picasso style figural detail. This signed 1970s piece is a great example of the melding of ceramics and sculpture that is one of the hallmarks of her work. It features a stylized female figure with 3 dimensional accents in the body and face, with a combination of glazed and unglazed areas for beautiful contrast. The dimensional effect makes it particularly beautiful and a rare find. Plate measures 9" across and 1 3/8" high and has an integrated hanging loop. Excellent condition ready for display. Espinosa was born in Argentina, but is most famous for her modernist pottery work after moving to Puerto Rico in the late 1960s.
