About the Item
G.T.DESIGN’s "ultraNative" rug collection combines the power of organic shapes with archaic and primordial patterns.
"UltraNative 7" features ancestral signs print in green on a beige backdrop, and an extraordinary circular movement on the rug. This unique piece is made in polyamide in the characteristic "Native shape": an organic shape, a hybrid of a circle and a square.
This "Ultranative" collection is the result of the focus on research and experimentation of the Italian contemporary rug company’s Creative Director Deanna Comellini. "UltraNative" applies digital printing techniques to the textures and patterns of G.T.DESIGN’s signature rugs in a variety of shapes and sizes, creating custom made and one of a kind carpets.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
In 2022, Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy.
