Antique Baluch Saddle Bag, Brown

About the Item

Antique Baluch saddle bag with plain weave back. Western Afghanistan. The saddle bag is of lattice design with Turkmen related design elements. The saddle bag is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile. Note the original decorative closing panel at the top of the bag face; this is in floated weft work. The bag still has its original plainweave back. The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display. Additional information: Age: Circa 1900 Size: 2ft 2in x 1ft 10in (65 x 57cm) Stock Number: R-1028.
