Antique Shahsavan saddle bag face in soumak technique. An outstanding soumak bag face with the classic Shahsavan all over repeat medallion design, superb natural dyes throughout. The bag face is very finely drawn with great use of colour, the ivory ground border frames the bag face very well. Note the decorative and colourful closing lappets at the top of the bag. The bag face is in outstanding original condition with very slight wear and no repairs. The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display. An outstanding and collectable example.
