About the Item

Moooi small menagerie of extinct animals square rug in low pile polyamide. Complementing the Mooois Milan 2022 exhibition, 3D works of artist- and designer Ada Sokól were artis centre stage. Given access to Moooi’s imaginative Extinct Animals, Sokól expertly created digital worlds in which the Mimic Moth, Queen Cobra and Golden Tiger could flourish. Basking in their digital but natural habitat, three Extinct Animals not only came to life, but played with every onlooker in Milan and online. Ada Sokól’s works are an ultra-sensory experience, based on oneiric scenery resembling visions of the far future. Sokól doesn’t like being restricted to reality and plays with the infinite possibilities of digital surrealism. Her sensorial approach is a perfect match with the multi-sensorial nature of the (digital) world of Moooi. The three new Extinct Animals by Ada Sokól present Mimic Moth, Queen Cobra and Golden Tiger. All three square carpets are perfect as tapestry art pieces on any wall. They are available in our three materials and in three different sizes so you will find a perfect fit for any home or hospitality or office space. These carpets will not only bring beautiful modern art in bright colors to a space, the warmth and acoustic value of a wall carpet will provide healthy and pleasant surroundings. The Moooi brand has always been about bringing additional beauty to our lives by decorating our homes, offices, hotel rooms and restaurants with iconic and innovative pieces of furniture and lighting. In 2015 Moooi introduced Moooi Carpets as part of the Moooi collection, to make your environment even more beautiful, exciting an inspiring. This rug holds personal importance for designer, Liesel Plambeck, dedicated to her mother and her Taiwanese heritage, the mythology and imagery of a place brought to life in stories. The serpent is an auspicious symbol, and Liesel’s serpent is particularly charming. At times emerging from grassy cashmere and at other times arrayed in silk on a wool field. When placed, the skill of the artist is evident as the form of the serpent emerges beneath furnishings, connecting the various elements of a room.
