About the Item
Early Perpedils are renowned for their high-quality weaves and creative drawings, as well as for their distinctive, stylised ram's horn motifs - thanks to their playful, expressive use of colour and form, these pieces are well appreciated and highly sought-after by connoisseurs.
This antique rug is a prime example of its type and a true rare fine, as it is increasingly difficult to find these carpets in such good condition. The design employs a soft terracotta field, framed by a wide, intricately worked six-part border, in gracefully aged vegetable-dyed ochre tones, with accents in denim blue, camel and ivory.
This 19th Century Perpedil has had age-related restoration carried out to a very high standard and is in very good condition for everyday use.
A work of masterful craftsmanship which will make a tasteful addition to a contemporary or classical setting, adding personality and charm.
