Rare Caucasian Sumak Runner, 19th Century

About the Item

Rare Caucasian Sumak Runner, 19th Century (4th Quarter) This crisp Sumak runner was woven in the villages of the southern Caucasus about 125 years ago. A column of rams-horn-traced diamond medallions is drawn on a yellow ground. While yellow ground Sumaks are certainly known, they are more rare than the red or blue varieties.
