Contemporary Samarkand Style Yarkand Rug with All-Over Pattern in Soft Colours

About the Item

Hand-knotted with fine, lustrous Ghazni highland Afghani wool, this elegant rug is distinguished by a network of stylised palmettes arranged in an infinite repeat on a very soft light grey/beige background. The wide white border adds a further touch of openness to the composition, ultimately creating an extremely pleasing carpet which can work in any kind of interior, from very traditional to extremely modern. Indeed Samarkand rugs, which are sometimes known as Khotan or Yarkand, have always been favoured by the international interior design community for their sophisticated palette and designs, which convey that 'old world' mood which can be a necessary ingredient when in need for a floor covering that can tie the entire room together with warmth. A rug that is both present yet capable to stay in the background.
