Contemporary Traditional Oriental Inspired Yellow Wool Rug by Doris Leslie Blau

About the Item

Contemporary traditional oriental inspired yellow wool rug by Doris Leslie Blau Size: 6'0" × 8'8" (182 × 264 cm). Although presently made, this traditional carpet exhibits the glamour and glory of magnificent Tabriz creations. It was thoroughly hand knotted of the finest wool in accordance with centuries-old weaving techniques by a skilled artisan in order to recreate the opulent and meticulous Persian motifs which require an incredibly high knot density. Its main field is adorned with a dense botanical pattern, incorporating flower heads, foliage and palmettes, surrounded by an equally compelling series of borders consistent with the main design. The color palette is not only properly balanced but also matched to traditional Tabriz coloring, and comprises of a deep gold shade on the background, accompanied by brown, sandy beige and taupe motifs. Gold hue in Persian symbolism indicates power and wealth. All lovers of palatial elegance and timeless design will desire this oriental-inspired modern area rug to be a part of their decor. Warm and symmetrical, the handwoven treasure will easily match a wide variety of interior arrangements, from Classic to eclectic, bringing in the recherché charm of oriental masterpieces. Persian carpets were usually made from wool of highest quality and associated with asymmetrical knots. They ought to be the essence of durability. Pakistani items made with Australian wool similar to silk occurred in two main graceful designs: Bokchara (or so-called “elephant feet”) and delicate patterns of Zigler with density of weaving up to 300 thousand knots per square meter, highly inspiring as well. Indian rugs, created manually from wool or silk, were carriers of many various motifs that are highly eligible nowadays: floral patterns, animals, birds, geometric and calligraphic ones. While looking for a Turkish or Chinese beauty in our gallery you won’t be disappointed either. Exclusively available at Doris Leslie Blau, where tradition meets design excellence. Doris Leslie Blau offers a broad and varied pricing spectrum, accommodating collectors and designers across a range of budgets—from modest vintage finds to rare, museum-worthy masterpieces.
