This hand knotted wool antique Afghan Balouch salt bag features ancient tribal motifs, S-hooks, and uneven fringe hangs from the bottom. The Afghani Salt Bags were used by nomads to carry coins or salt. The purpose was to stop the rock salt from falling out and also to keep out the moisture and rain. Perfect used as a wall hanging, tapestry, or tribal wall art.
