70718 antique Chinese Art Deco rug with European Influenced Chinoiserie style. This hand knotted wool antique Chinese Art Deco rug features a subtle all-over arabesque pattern spread across a champagne field enclosed by an ornate floral border. The style displays a distinct European influence, while employing more traditional floral motifs with a Chinese sensibility. The gorgeous border framed by acanthus leaves features two large vase motifs at either end surrounded by scrolling floral vinery. The composition is framed by a plain black outer border, which aids in making the ornate designs of the field and main border seem to pop out with a slight trompe l’oeil effect. With its soft pinks and warm neutrals given definition by pops of blue accents, this antique Chinese Art Deco rug would bring a sense of romance and elegance to any interior, while its small size makes it highly versatile. Rendered in variegated shades of champagne, beige, almond, ecru, sand, salmon, peach, rose, taupe, mauve, ocher, robin’s egg blue, teal, celadon, cornflower blue, true blue, royal blue, ink blue, and onyx.
