Antique Khotan Rug, Soft Palette
About the Item
The corners are stepped in a small diamond lattice design, as is the subfield supporting a pale blue-grey stepped medallion enclosing a rosette trellis. Rosettes and botehs float freely on the pale blue-grey ground of this Xinjiang oasis town rug in lightly worn condition. The softly abrashed light red-brown border show jagged palmettes and simple, smooth faceted vine segments.
