Hand-Knotted Antique Circa-1880 Red Khotan Rug
About the Item
This antique, circa 1880, Khotan rug has a coral-red field with a central soft aubergine-purple square containing a soft yellow panel with a central rosette issuing floral motifs surrounded by a narrow coral-red band of linked circles surrounded by scattered bold plant motifs and flowerheads, the key-pattern spandrels in each corner, in a golden-yellow border of polychrome key-pattern panels between soft aubergine-purple key-pattern and cloud-motif stripes, plain outer aubergine-purple stripe.
