About the Item

Mongolian hand-knotted rug, 100% wool 19th century. A large medallion opens on a central small lattice field. In the center is the SCHOU symbol, representing longevity and good luck, surrounded by 5 bats. The bat is considered a symbol of happiness, the 5 bats stand for many happinesses, namely longevity, wealth, health, virtue worship and good death.
