Tibetan Inspired Two Tigers Tan Wool Accessory Throw Runner Rug by Joseph Carini

About the Item

Two Tigers is Joseph Carini's twist on a traditional Tibetan design. Two tigers face opposite directions surrounded by bamboo shoots and flowers reminiscent of east Asian motifs. Their beautiful animal prints pop against a neutral background. This rug is perfect as a runner in a hall, at the foot of a bed or to accessorize anywhere in your home. Handwoven in our exclusive workshop in Nepal, this rug exudes luxury and elegance. Hand knotted with the finest hand processed Himalayan wool, this fine handmade carpet is soft to the touch and has a beautiful sheen from the wool's natural lanolin. This design is available in additional and custom colorways and sizes. Also available in silk, wool, mohair, wild nettle, or a combination of materials. Reach out for customization. Carini’s design philosophy is heavily influenced by historical contexts and nature, merging his graphic and organic design interests with his considerable knowledge of decorative arts, architecture, and industrial design history. Antique Tibetan Monastic Tiger Rug

Tigers are not native animals of the Tibetan plateau; however their presence in neighbouring countries such as China and India partly explain its depiction, both in a realistic as well as in an abstract fashion, on a specific group of antique Tibetan weavings.
