Unique Antique Chinese Rug with Wild Color Palette, Circa 1920's
About the Item
This is a totally wild carpet, from the rust field, through the scalloped light blue medallion with a central even arm cruciform, to the diagonally barred corners with little blue arches, to the light blue border with its vessels, fretwork bits and Kufesque squares. Hard to describe in the typical rug terms, it must be seen to be fully appreciated. Not for everybody and certainly not for one seeking restraint and Chinese equanimity. But… Good condition with an exceptionally wide dye palette.
