On the Design:
This piece underscores floral patterns in cream tones atop a sky blue and chartreuse field with hints of teal. Though this form represents a more minimalist approach, keen eyes will note inspiration from the many provenances known for repeating floral patterns in dense, deftly woven designs as this—a thoughtful and elegant new take on a traditional look.
The block printing process is one of the oldest in textile design and has seen many adaptations. Many of our designs draw on time-honored, archaic designs, such as 17th-century Mogul rug patterns that allow admirers of the craft to make their own personal connection. Our contemporary approach features a subtle high-low texture, a luxurious wool-and-silk blend that beautifully catches the light, and a fresh color palette.
