Made with handwoven wool, this 13x17 custom rug design is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Scandinavian “Nu” rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the Design:
These photos represent a recently sold 13x17 “Nu” flat weave that enjoys a boucle-like texture of blended yarns. This piece exemplifies the finesse of Swedish aesthetics with a rippling geometric pattern casting a 3D impression in elegant tones of beige, cream & gray chevron patterns. Keen eyes will also admire the chic striae born of the intricate weaving style inherent to this collection; a proprietary technique that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic.
