This 9x12 custom rug design is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the Design:
These photos represent a recently sold 9x12 new flat weave that enjoys a smart application of striped geometric patterns in an unexpected colorway of gold, green, blue, and brown tones. Keen eyes will also admire the chic striae born of the intricate weaving style inherent to this collection; a proprietary technique that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic. His Scandinavian Collection is a contribution to that style, and a renaissance for its designs with more comfortable, current techniques.
