Kilim Berber Morocco Vintage Handmade White and Black Natural Wool Kilim Rug

About the Item

Berber Kilim Rug, Rug Cover , in Wool Manufactured from 100% wool, the yarn is not dyed, leaving the tone of black color only to the yarn used to enrich the rug with the typical symbolism of nomadic tribes. The softness of the untreated wool has made it the best solution for sleeping and covering from the harsh desert cold over the centuries. The Berber knotting itself, which has made Beni Ourain rugs famous for their durability and softness, was created precisely to make the rug warmer and more usable both front and back. This is a modern revision given more or less 1980 of the Ourika Kilim from the Atlas Mountains of the Berber Tribes in Morocco; a faithful revival from the distant time with the same ancestral techniques of these Tribes from washing to roping to spinning ; what sets this beautiful kilim apart is the refinement in design; the dance in the wefts is an ancient expression in the weave where the weaver reveals her mastery in the execution of the rug; this technique is called in the world of oriental weaving Abrasce which means hamlets of weaves. The Story of Afolki Afolki was born from the entrepreneurial dream of Mohamed El Alami, who grew up in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, where he assimilated the essence of Berber culture. With the founding of Afolki, Mohamed brought the timeless appeal of Berber carpets, Tuareg mats, and Moroccan rugs to Europe, becoming a point of reference for inteior designers and architects looking for authentic and refined handmade rugs. Our Berber Rugs and Tuaregh Mats are more than just furnishings; they tell ancient stories that continue to inspire the greatest contemporary creatives. Our Offer Afolki not only sells modern rugs and luxury carpets, but also offers rental services for Tuareg rugs and mats intended for special projects, such as photo shoots and event styling. Our designer carpets are regularly requested for the décor of high-end boutiques such as VALENTINO, ISABEL MARANT, CHLOÉ, and DIOR, and for prestigious film sets such as Ridley Scott's THE HOUSE OF GUCCI, Paolo Sorrentino's THE GREAT BEAUTY, and Ferzan Özpetek's THE DEA FORTUNA. Because of this prestige, we are the ideal partner for projects that require high-quality modern carpets We are ready to work with your interior design studio to enrich your projects with unique pieces that blend past and present, tradition and modernity, adding value to the design of your spaces.
