This oversized vintage Moroccan floor covering is a 9x15 Tuareg mat from the nomadic tribe of the same name. Handwoven with reeds and leather circa 1950-1960, its natural materials enjoy warm brown, red, green and beige tones in its geometric patterns. On the Design: Connoisseurs will admire Tuareg mats as distinct works with their own rich history and unique, masterful craftsmanship. This design is also one of few in its kind to favor a minimalist approach to the primitivist Berber geometric patterns. The large size further connotes a particularly intricate work—likely made by two or more weavers with meticulous detail.
