Moroccan Inspired Tuareg Blue Rug by Alberto Levi Gallery

About the Item

Tuareg Blue represent perhaps one of the gallery's most significant contemporary Moroccan recreations. Hand-knotted with silky hand-spun Ghazni Afghan wool, it represents an irregularly arranged chequerboard pattern characterised by a plethora of natural 'abrash' (changes in colour shades), coming from indigo dyeing the wool in successive batches. The resulting colour movement is a true feast for the senses. Tuareg comes also in natural/undyed shades, and is a design which conveys a a profound sense of peace to its surroundings. Like every contemporary rug in our collections, Tuareg Blue can be customised to any size in relatively short lead times.
