Vintage Moroccan Boucherouite rug - Orange - 3.1x7.2feet / 95x220cm

About the Item

I picked this lovely runner rug from stacks of carpets as I think it is such a unique vintage piece with a strong character! The background color is a orange, with black, blue, green, yellow, neon pink designs all over it. The composition starts with checks and goes more artistic then with series of organic diamonds, the traditional feminine berber symbol for pregnancy. The dimensions of the rug make it a versatile rug you can move all around the house, from your bedside to the kitchen or the entryway of course. It is quite light so use of rugpads is recommended. This rug is called a boucherouite and is made of colorful cotton threads knotted on a cotton base. Medium to low pile. It can be cleaned using water and soap, easy if you have kids or pets around! Approximate dimensions are 3.1x7.2feet (+4inches tassels) / 95x220cm (+10cm tassels). The rug has not been cut and will come in its original shape.

How fun is this one!! Such a bold vintage rug with bright colors and strong abstract designs all over it! Main colors are a bright orange-red, like a deep coral I would say + yellow and black. The rug is made of colorful cotton threads knotted on a recycled clothing base, just like the boucherouite style. Low pile. Approximate dimensions are 3.6x8.8feet / 110x268cm. It seems to me that the rug has been shortened on the ending were there is that big yellow diamond.
