Vintage Moroccan Taznakht rug - Black/orange/yellow - 4.5x7.2feet / 137x220cm

About the Item

I selected this beautiful rug from piles of carpets because I have always loved a good vintage Taznakht rug with bright, saffron color. The background color of this one is a dark brown with saffron and faded red designs all over it. You can spot multiple flowers that give so much rythm to the rug, one bold square design in the center and 2 mosques on both sides of the rug and also vases and teapots!!! Tight weaving which is typical from the Taznakht tribe. The rug is a low to medium pile, silky and soft sheep wool 100%. Approximate dimensions are 4.5x7.2feet (+4inches tassels) / 137x220cm (+10cm tassels). The rug has not been cut and comes in its original shape.

How fun is this one!! Such a bold vintage rug with bright colors and strong abstract designs all over it! Main colors are a bright orange-red, like a deep coral I would say + yellow and black. The rug is made of colorful cotton threads knotted on a recycled clothing base, just like the boucherouite style. Low pile. Approximate dimensions are 3.6x8.8feet / 110x268cm. It seems to me that the rug has been shortened on the ending were there is that big yellow diamond.
