About the Item

Hand-knotted in wool and originating from Morocco circa 1950-1960, this 6x7 vintage rug is a rare and among the most exciting new additions to Rug & Kilim’s mid-century curations from the region. On the Design: This vintage Moroccan rug is a visceral explosion of texture and intensity, and an uncompromising example of tribal abstraction in its most untamed form. Its surface pulses with deep, saturated hues of scarlet red, black, and orange. The talented weavers here have abandoned symmetry and restraint in favor of pure emotion, conveyed through an electrifying interplay of color and texture. The dense shaggy pile—a signature of Moroccan weaving—gives the surface a tactile depth and dimension. Whether placed in a serene modernist interior or layered into an eclectic space that celebrates intensity, it can anchor any space with raw magnetism and undeniable soul. Condition: This vintage Moroccan rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
