"Brushstrokes Rug", is a collaborative piece as part of Jason Andrew Turner's "Welcome Home" collection. This listing is for the smaller 47” in length by 16” in width version of the design and can be a floor rug OR wall-hanging with a wood cleat. The piece features Turner's signature abstract brushstroke design crafted and woven by the Tuft the World workshop.
Jason Andrew Turner (b. 1982, Birmingham, AL) is a visual artist currently based in North Carolina. In these newest works, he begins with an armature of sumi ink, laying a thread of black ink as a pathway. Color is applied along the linear architecture relating to the emotional and cultural reflection of color meaning.
Tuft the World was established in 2018 by Tiernan Alexander and Tim Eads, Texas-born artists and business owners living and working in West Philadelphia. The company was founded to provide tufters with the high-quality tools, materials, and instruction they need to make their own tufting projects. Tiernan and Tim’s collective experience as crafters and educators, as well as their uniquely creative approach to art and life, inspire their mission to make the craft of tufting accessible to a broad audience while staying true to their values of equity and sustainability.

Jason Andrew Turner
Jason Andrew Turner (b. 1982, Birmingham, AL) is a visual artist currently based in rural North Carolina. In these newest works, he begins with an armature of sumi ink, laying a thread of black ink as a pathway. Color is applied along the linear architecture relating to the emotional and cultural refection of color meaning. This slows the immediate path to create a narrative that is both reflective and a reaction to society at large. The configurations are often repeated gestures that relate with behavioral actions, emotional states, anxiety, and symbiotic community. Jason holds a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design.
