This is a SUPERB Vintage Karastan Rug with a Williamsburg Design in very good condition with NO wear. The original fringe is in perfect condition and the two sides show NO wear. Colors in the rug include a rose colored background with gold, ivory, mustard, yellow, and navy blue colors in the design. 100% wool pile. No one offer vintage Karastan rugs, in the quality we offering, we are the first a rug and Stickley furniture on line This rug by Karastan is made of Manchester wool and we had it shampooed with great shampoo we ordered from Persia that is why the colors are so good. This is a vintage Karastan rug with a Williamsburg design. Made in the 2000s, the rug is in excellent condition with 100% wool pile. (In the 1980s, the company was the original Karastan.. see below) There are no stains, no cuts, and no problems. The fringe is original and in excellent condition. And importantly, the two sides are in excellent condition. We’ve been dealing with rugs since 1971… we know what rugs. Karastan went out of business and the BRAND NAME was sold to Mohawk, who has been manufacturing “Karastan” rugs ever since. This rug was made by the original Karastan Company and is very high quality. If you’d see examples of both companies' products side by side, we suggest you would be able to easily tell which was made by the original Karastan company. The Karastan company uses a tea stain to color the sides of the rug. Some Karastan owners prefer lighter sides and use a chlorine bleach solution that can drastically change the color of the rug and the sides. Please use caution when cleaning the rug… we suggest that you NOT use chlorine bleach. The two sides of any Karastan rug are potential problem points. These rugs (Karastan) are made on an industrial loom. Any cut on the sides will cause the rug to start to unravel. When repaired, many companies use serging equipment.
