Vintage 1930s Navajo Pictorial weaving with Yei figures and feathers, woven of native hand spun wool in natural fleece colors of white, brown black and gray brown aniline dyed red, orange and yellow. The Yeibichai ceremony, also known as the Night Chant includes nine days of performances featuring mythical personifications of several characters including the Yeibichai (Yei Bi Chei or Yébîchai), Paternal Gods or Grandfather. This southwestern rug is well suited for use on the floor as an area rug, as a wall hanging/tapestry or a bed covering/furniture throw. The Navajo Nation is located in the Southwestern United States in areas of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.
