19th Century Kurdish Runner

About the Item

19th Century hand knotted Persian Kurdish runner in geometric pattern. The design consists of eight small axial medallions in abrash navy blue set on a terracotta color field. The design is very open and uncluttered with small paisley forms in each medallion and in the field. The runner has a wonderful border in an ivory color with geometric designs in blue and terracotta. 19th Century Kurdish Bidjar Runner

A vintage Kurdish Bidjar runner in a geometric medallion pattern set on an abrash terracotta red field color from the late 1900s. There are five medallions in the field connected via a line ending in a smaller medallion on each end. The border consists of three narrow borders one in French Blue, the other in brown and the last one in pale yellow or ivory. Interesting and very charming design items include small animal and human forms throughout the field and the borders. The rug is also dated 1329 in the Islamic calendar which corresponds to 1911. A wonderful rug that brings beauty and heritage to any space it is displayed on.
