About the Item

This Persian Qashqai Neriz carpet, circa 1880, consists of a pure handspun wool warp, weft and hand knotted pile and organic vegetable dyes. The Classic Qashqai geometric style with multiple medallions can be seen in this carpet alongside smaller figures that fill the negative space with a variety of interesting motifs. The vegetable dyes create beautiful hues with the blue and yellow in the medallions starring atop a background of mostly red, orange, and a darker blue. It is an exceptional carpet in good antique condition. The size is 5'5" x 9'9". Orley Shabahang takes pride in selecting and curating the finest vintage and antique carpets, ensuring that the preservation of this ancient art form will endure for generations to come.
