About the Item

Named after the former capital and largest carpet-producing city of Persia, this exceptional Isfahan carpet is hand-knotted in pure wool and belongs to Orley Shabahang's Antique collection. Measuring 4’8” x 6’11”, this rug's hand-knotted weave produces a soft plush pile while also providing a durable and functional foundation. Organic vegetable dyes achieve the green, red, blue, and gold tones of wool. These dyes are still preferred in carpet weaving today for their bright and fade-resistant qualities. Orley Shabahang takes pride in selecting and curating the finest vintage and antique carpets, ensuring that the preservation of this ancient art form will endure for generations to come.
