:: Super fine Persian Afshar in excellent color with calming shades of blue, rather hard to find. Although the knot density is rather tight, the wool itself is extremely soft and lively, rendering the rug with a blanket-like field and super soft handle. Triple center medallions with sharp stepped contour throughout. Densely woven decorative design elements throughout, mainly featuring germinating plants and floral cross-sections, in addition to serpents, animals, and more. Unique artistic merit throughout with an abundance of asymmetry within an otherwise symmetrically appearing rug. As one example of such, note the checkered color boteh when looking at the main image in the lower left corner spandrel, which is nowhere else to be found in the weaving. Colors and shades include: Dusty blush, sky blue, indigo blue, ivory, teal, mallard green, oxidized copper green, chocolate brown, and more. Condition notes: Mostly even wear across to knot heads. Tatter to sides and ends. Localized areas of professional repiling, restoration, and light mending. Mostly secured sides and ends. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use!
