Antique Heriz with Red Field and Rosette Border
About the Item
The saturated madder red field displays an allover pattern of forked, asymmetric leaf-palmettes, setting off a dark blue eight petal focus, and details in straw, ecru and medium blue. Blue-black strip style main border of rosettes and doubly bent leaves. Hairline end reduction as is common on Heriz weavings. Moderate weave, cotton foundation. Rustic work. Good condition.
