This 7x12 antique Persian is a mid-century tribal carpet believed to be of Qashqai origin. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1910-1920, its design favors medallions and geometric patterns in red, beige-brown and gold. On the Design: Connoisseurs will admire this Qashqai rug as a rare work from this tribal provenance. The range of colors and graphic, sharply detailed geometry are seldom seen in similar tribal rugs—let alone in this large size (nearly a gallery runner).
