Antique Malayer with Slate Field and a Cream Border
About the Item
The abrashed slate field displays seven medallions in the generalized Karaja octogramme design, with large one in the centre with a flaming sub-medallion. A pair of jaunty animals appear in the field. Cream border with a cursive version of the “tangerine flower” repeat with rosettes and stemmed triple florets. Medium/moderate weave on cotton. Good condition.
